The Jubilee
The jubilee celebrates Queen Elizabeth II’s 70th year as the monarch of the U.K.. A 70th anniversary is known as a platinum anniversary.
Some people in the U.K. are massive fans of the royal family and take the celebrations very seriously. Even those who do not follow the royal family are using as a time to celebrate with friends and family, and extra bank holidays have been added to give most people extra time off of work.
Many communities are having street parties, where neighbours come together to celebrate, and each household brings a plate of food to share.
There are have also been a series of beacons (fires) lit across the country, and there was a massive music show with top stars like Paul McCartney and Diana Ross.
The royal family have also come together to celebrate, including Charles and Camilla, William and Kate, and Harry and Megan. This has been the first time they have come together to celebrate since Harry and Megan moved to the U.S..
Whether you are a fan of the royal family or not, it is hard not to be excited by the grandness of the crlebrstions, from the trooping of the colour to the flight of the red arrows.
